Seafood restaurant

Very good oysters, and decent fizz and wine. Sat at the bar which gave a great view of oyster shucking. Very well shucked! Heaters shot hot air on you which is a bit uncomfortable, and not great for wine storage. Hope it is drunk quickly! Main criticism is on service. Kept waiting for wine, which is understandable when a place busy, but it wasn’t full and staff clustered and chatted while I waited. It was Saturday night and you’d expect a bit more hustle. At the price being charged management needs to get a grip.

Fun, small space with incredible service- especially since they only had two waitresses!Food was tasty, watch out for the wait! There was a line out the door to get in, so be prepared for that

We had a nice dining experience at this restaurant, opting to sit outside due to the limited availability indoors. The mussels were so good, bursting with flavor. Considering the reasonable price, the overall meal was a great deal, and we enjoyed the added bonus of a pleasant view while enjoying our delicious dishes.

Always a peril of dining out during Christmas shopping silly season. The restaurant was very busy and whilst the team were very pleasant, you couldn't help but feel like you were on a conveyor belt and the sooner you left, the better.2 out of the 3 pasta dishes we ordered were good, one unfortunately was barely warm but edible none the less.We didn't mention it as we were eating as one person would have been eating after everyone else had finished if the Dosh was replaced.We mentioned it as we were cleared and the team did flag that they would have tried to remedy the situation.It was my first visit to a San Carlo, I have to admit, I probably wouldn't seek out another. Even if all 3 dishes had been a reasonable temperature, the experience fell a little short and flat for me.

We absolutely loved our meals at the black bull inn on saturday night. Gorgeous tasting food which you get plenty of.Definitely be going back again soon

Fantastic food and service, reasonably priced and a real treat for both a nice evening out and a special occasion.I recently booked a table for 7, celebrating the mother-in-laws birthday. We were politely greeted and were provided a nice large table which didn't feel cramped as some can when you have a large group.It was a Sunday, so the normal menu was available plus the option of a Sunday lunch, which most of the table opted for. Personally, I ordered mussels, king prawns and scallops, each in a different sauce, with a side of chips.The staff were knowledgeable, guiding us through our first visit with great personality a and clarity.The food was fresh, hot and delicious. From someone who visits Padstow regularly, the seafood on offer was comparable and maybe even better than some I had sampled before.I recommend a visit for any reason and will certainly be going back again soon.

Nothing short of Excellent. Family fish dinner 2 kids ate the lot no fuss. Fish was top quality batter even better. We also opted for the squid and brocoli tempura starters all were delicious.

Amazing!! Went there for a late lunch on a Sunday expecting a normal experience. But right from the moment we stepped in to us leaving, everything was just great. Upon entering we were greeted with a smile and got seated quickly.The staff was so friendly and made sure we knew they had halal fish options available(non beer batter) even before we asked her!Portion size was massive, food was very tasty and even the dips were delicious, I really liked the pea mayo.Loved the ambience as well. Loved it there and would definitely go back when I go Southend.

Best seafood I have ever had. We have been waiting for a seafood boil in Reading and finally have one. I have ordered 3 times from them and will never travel to London again for my seafood. They offer just takeaway and delivery at the moment. Their prices and menu are great. If you love seafood and live around Reading then you have to try them.

The best freshly caught local seafood you'll ever taste. Crabs are beautifully dressed, the brown meat is always the best. Our platter was £25 which was excellent value for money considering the quality. You can't visit the area and not get a seafood platter
